About us FAQ

About us:
Tangible Design was started by Jayson and Michael Carlson. While working in a production door shop their love for working with their hands found a home. It was not long before they started learning about advanced wood working practices and take on clients. With every new piece they developed new skills and found better ways of producing top quality furniture. Jayson is formally trained in traditional wood working techniques by Red Rocks Community College where in his first year he was asked to assist in teaching classes. He currently employs a hands-on management approach and has deep involvement in both the design and construction of each piece. Michael has taken on the management of their business but spends many hours a week working with Jayson and their other craftsmen.
Tangible Design is currently accepting commissions for work. They have a commitment to the hands on process of every piece and every customer. Each commission begins with an in house consultation (if feasible) and is followed, in a timely manner, by design specs, lead time and a price estimate.

FAQ’s
How long can I expect to wait for my piece?
Lead time varies greatly. Most pieces take about four weeks for construct. More complicated pieces can take up to six months.

Where will my furniture be made?
Our woodworking shop is located just outside of Denver, Colorado. All our furniture is made on site, by hand and shipped or delivered to your home. In some cases delivery may be an additional charge.

Do you use “green” manufacturing processes?
Yes. Leed certified wood is available for our clients within 100 miles. We also have access to reclaimed wood and other forms of sustainable products.

What “green” forms of finishing do you use?
All our finishing is done with traditional methods and as such is very green. Many products we use are all natural and produce a more ideal finished product.

How much will my furniture cost?
Because of the custom, one off nature of our production it is not possible to give even a close estimate of what your piece will cost without doing a consultation. Consultations are done for referred customers at no charge. Otherwise a small deposit may be requested at the conclusion of out in home consultation.
